About Immaculate College for Women
Immaculate College for Women was established on April 23, 2014 as a Christian educational self-financing institution exclusively for women. It is managed by the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a Catholic religious congregation founded by Rev. Fr. Louis Savinien Dupuis in Pondicherry in 1844. The institution began its academic journey in 2015 with 198 students, 10 teaching staff, 8 non-teaching staff and five undergraduate programmes at its temporary campus in Pudupalayam, Cuddalore. The college subsequently developed its present campus at Chinnakanganankuppam, spread across approximately 9 acres. The institution currently reports 2,050 students and 77 teaching faculty members and offers 11 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate programmes. Its infrastructure includes spacious academic buildings, green campus areas, playground facilities, laboratories, an air-conditioned high-tech computer laboratory with internet access, canteen, seminar hall, auditorium and career guidance facilities. The college also maintains academic departments in Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, BCA, Data Science, Commerce, BBA and Botany.
